In reality, it is practically impossible to reach these maximums. This capacity will be reduced by several factors in the fuel supply system such as; *Capacity of incoming system to meter, *Capacity of system between origin and connections to ring. *Type of pipe *Size of pipe *Length of run *LP orifice/air mixer *Number of turns *Capacity of valve *Line pressure *Altitude. It is always best to consult with your plumber to be sure you have enough supply to make sure you have a full flame pattern.

THESE PRODUCTS CREATE SOME VERY HIGH TEMERATURES SO IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT COMBUSTIBLES BE KEPT AT SAFE DISTANCES.
Wooden surfaces must be located far enough away that they do not reach a temperature of more than 100degrees F plus ambient air temperature. Example: if surrounding air temperature is 70degrees F surface temperature must stay at or below 170degrees F.

PREPARATION OF PIT FOR INSTALLATION

We recommend that our products be installed and serviced by professionals who are certified in the U.S. by NFI(National Fireplace Institute) or in Canada by WETT(Wood Energy Technical Training). Installer must follow all instructions carefully to ensure proper preformance and safety.
  1. TO ASSURE STABILITY, PREVENT LEAKS AND ASSURE PROPER IGNITION THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS MUST BE FOLLOWED. For LP installations the fire ring must rest on a solid surface such as-Our optional burner pans(aluminum or stainless steel 19" and 25"), Concrete, Soil, Sand, Sheet Metal. For natural gas installations, any of the above can be used in addition to other materials such as lava rock, stones, brick or concrete block.
  2. The fire ring should be enclosed around the circumference with a non combustible material.
  3. The fire ring should be down about 4" from the top of the enclosure but no more than 8".
  4. The fire ring is designed so holes can be either on the top or bottom. Since LP(propane) is heavier than air and tends to sink it is more difficult to light from above. It is strongly recommended that in LP installations the holes are left facing up. For natural gas installations either up or down is acceptable.
  5. Fill area around and over the ring with something like lava rock,(50 lbs lava rock) to a depth of about 1" over the ring. Build up the area to as much as 2" in the middle. Lava rock is available with fire rings as an optional item. Lava rock is included in the fire pit kits(FP kits)and complete fire pits. Use a fireplace poker to move the chunks around to create the flame effect you want. You might also want to use one of our log sets to further enhance the apperance. Our log sets come in Woodland style( Large Log set for 37" Fire Pits , Small Log Set for 12" Fire Pits), Campfire style(4 peice with wood bits for 18" Fire Pits, 4 peice with wood bits for 24" Fire Pits, 5 peice with wood bits for 30" Fire Pits)and Teepee style (18"-24" Fire Pits)and are made for outdoor use.
