The height of the unit allows for the fireplace to be installed in most places without a building permit. The hearth has a wide base for added stability. The Fireplace is very versitle because you can burn wood or gas logs. It is pre drilled for gas line to be easily inserted through the side of the unit. An 18" or 24" log set will fit in the firebox.
